Another beautiful day.........so we are off to the races again!

Another Friday and we are beginning to feel time slip away.  It always seems to be the pattern that as soon as you slide into a day-to-day rhythm, the passage of time seems to accelerate.  Even when we try to slow down, our pace forward is relentless.  There is no easy solution to capturing the experience in slow motion!

Today we had two agenda items........the first being a lunch reservation at Corte Sconta and the second being a visit to the Palazzo Grimani to see a biennale exhibit. We left late morning and got the exhibit in before lunch......which worked out great.  All in all an A+ day!

Quick glimpse of the exercise 'palestra' as they call it......in the Residenza.  There is absolutely no need to use anything here, as we are exhausting ourselves just through walking!

It was also fun to see people trying to move through the maze this morning!

and a view of the entry to the Residenza.......just to the left of the Borges Maze.

and our morning pictures of the marina and the view to San Marco

Interesting that tour groups have figured out it is more pleasant to move their orientation back a block of two from the Riva degli Schiavoni and Piazza San Marco to locations like this......the Campo San Zaccaria.  There was also an art class here sketching this morning.....and we were there to poke our heads in to the Chiesa di San Zaccaria to see the Giovanni Bellini painting.......and were lucky that the church was open!

.......and stopping at a Cafe in Campo Santa Maria Formosa, very close to the Palazzo Grimini.  We have a Cafe we like here with great cappuccino!

The Palazzo Grimini was of interest for two reasons.  First, there was an interesting biennale exhibit by an artist from Mississippi called Rick Lowe.  Secondly, there is a renovated/recontructed sculpture gallery that catches every architect's eye!

The palace was built in 16th century for Gerolamo Grimani by architect Michele Sanmicheli and completed after his death by Gian Giacomo de' Grigi, known as "il Bergamasco." The sculpture court was completed in the 1590's, modeled to some extent after the pantheon in Rome.

AN INTERMEDIATE EXHIBIT WHICH WAS QUITE WEIRD
CHECK OUT THIS VIDEO! something about 'distant people'

THEN ON TO AN UPPER FLOOR FOR THE RICK LOWE EXHIBIT
WE BOTH LOVED THESE COLLAGE/PAINTINGS!

THEN ON TO LUNCH AT CORTE SCONTA

COULD NOT RESIST THE ZABGLONE AND GRAPPA!

ON THE WAY HOME, WE PICKED UP VIVALDI 'FOUR SEASONS' TICKETS FOR MONDAY NIGHT AT THE CHURCH OF THE PIETA ON RIVA DELGI SCHIAVONE

SUNBATHING WEATHER HAS ARRIVED!

ANOTHER EVENING ON THE ROOF DECK (and a walk through the grounds) AND A NICE HOMEMADE MEAL!
